Guide to Winterizing Your Dock & Waterfront Gear in Michigan

From Bellfy Aquatic Engineering

As Michigan’s sunny summer days give way to crisp autumn air, it’s time to start planning for the seasonal transition of your waterfront.

💡 First Step: Schedule your boat or PWC removal from the water. Once those are safely out, Bellfy Aquatic Engineering can remove your dock, lift, and accessories before ice and wind cause costly damage.

Why Start Planning Now?

Michigan’s weather can shift quickly, and once the first frost hits, scheduling dock and lift removal becomes a race against time. By planning ahead, you:

  • Avoid last-minute stress when everyone’s calling at once.

  • Protect your investment from costly ice or wind damage.

  • Ensure safer, smoother removal before cold winds and icy water make it harder.

What We Remove

We specialize in the seasonal removal of:

  • Boat docks (stationary or floating)

  • Boat lifts, including PWC lifts

  • Kayak racks & paddleboard racks

  • Stairs

  • Dock and lift accessories

(We do not remove or store boats, PWCs, kayaks, or paddleboards themselves — those must be removed from the water first.)

📍 How Our Scheduling Works

At Bellfy Aquatic Engineering, we schedule by lake:

  • We dedicate entire days to working on one lake at a time.

  • Our crews work more efficiently, moving from property to property without wasted travel time.

  • You get more predictable service windows because we’re nearby all day.

Why it matters: The sooner you let us know when you’ll be ready for removal, the easier it is to group your lake neighbors together and keep things running smoothly.

🤝 Teamwork = Smooth Transition

When we coordinate with your lake community:

  • 📅 You get a removal date that works with your schedule.

  • 📍 You know exactly when we’ll be there.

  • 🌊 Your transition to winter storage will be smooth and stress-free.
